You'll spend 5 days exploring this area, photographing some of the hidden gems that your leader, Tom Putt, has spent many years searching for. These include the enchanted Ballroom Forest, Mount Kate Hut, Waldheim Chalet, Pencil Pine Falls, Ronney Creek, Lake Hanson, Marion's Peak & Crater Falls.

DAY ONE

We'll be there at Launceston Airport to greet you. It's a short two hour drive to Cradle Mountain. You'll be chauffeur driven all week so you can sit back, relax and know we've got things covered. On the way we'll stop off in the town of Sheffield to photograph the many murals that adore the walls of the local buildings.

From there, Cradle Mountain Lodge awaits. This is where you'll have a private room to yourself. These luxurious cabins are the perfect place to unwind, relax and spread out for the week as you explore the beauty of this magnificient region.

An introductory dinner is held in the dining room where we'll go over the plans for the week.

DAY TWO

Each morning we'll be up before sunrise to make our way into the national park to capture first light on Cradle Mountain. Nothing beats standing on the shoreline of Dove Lake, breathing in the cool highland air and waiting for the warmth of the sun to hit your back.

Once we've captured that epic shot and enjoyed the full serenity of the landscape, we will head back to the lodge for breakfast and a well deserved coffee.

Did I tell you about the buffet breakfast at the Cradle Mountain Lodge?? BEST EVER! The porridge is to die for.

Depending on the weather, we will either sit down for a little to download our images and learn more about processing them. Or if the weather is amazing - which I tend to order especially for my workshops! - we will grab a picnic lunch and walk the 6kms around Dove Lake to take in the sights.

This MUST DO walk is one of Australia's BEST one day walks. Circumnavigating the lake that sits at the base of Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake offers brilliant views of the Mountain.

Sunsets are always part of our workshop schedule. Photography is always the main priority, so we always allow plenty of time for this. Shoots last anywhere from one to three hours. Eating and sleeping are a close second!

Dinner and a well-earned wine are the order for the end of the day after working hard to capture all those incredible photographs. Then we retire early to catch our beauty sleep.

DAY THREE and FOUR

Much like day 2, these next two days take on a similar theme. Up early for a sunrise shoot, breakfast, download  images then out for more photography for the rest of the day. We'll explore all of the well-known landscape locations in the area including The famous Boat Shed, The enchanted Ballroom Forest, Mount Kate Hut, Waldheim Chalet, Pencil Pine Falls, Ronney Creek, Lake Hanson, Marion's Peak and Crater Falls.

DAY FIVE

Sadly our last day has come. We'll do a final review of the photographs taken on the workshop before packing our bags and heading for the airport by late afternoon.

With our hearts and hard drives full, we will say our goodbyes and hopefully return in the not-too-distant future.

"I always look forward to your workshops Tom, as they are unique in so many ways.  Perfect locations, distinctive personalities, and quirky celebrations.  The Cradle Mountain Workshop provided the motivation to explore and photographically capture extraordinary surroundings.  I come away with another set of amazing images/memories.  Thank you once again for making it happen."
