WHAT IF

I Fail

SEPT 7/The Wanderlust Collective/

Art Inspiration, Deep Thought, Motivation

There is freedom waiting for you, On the breezes of the sky, And you ask "What if I fall?"

Oh, but my darling,

What if you fly?

Erin Hanson

If I told you how many things I failed in my art career and kept trying regardless of failing you’d probably ask why keep going?  I don’t know...why did all the successful people of the past keep going? I think it’s faith. Having the faith as small as a mustard seed, has helped me break through barriers I never thought possible.

“If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

Matthew 17:20

Rejection can do one of two things...either light a fire under your butt and fuel you to try harder, or it can conjure up feelings of anger, sadness, or low sense of self-worth. It’s the most difficult thing when someone says to you that you are wasting your time. That you are not good enough. But, failure, and learning to accept it, is part of growing.

Let’s face it, there is only so much a human can take before throwing in the towel.

“Before every run, is a race between your mind and an excuse. Win it!”

Let's look at some well known people that failed and then succeeded.

Thomas Edison, went on to hold over 1,000 patents and invented the electrical light bulb. He never gave up and mind you he failed nearly 2,000 times. Hurray for light bulbs!!!

Dr. Suess who’s real name was Theodore Geisel was rejected by 28 different publishers. Finally, Random House saw the creative genius behind a meal of green eggs and ham. He went on to become one of the most successful authors of children’s books.

Walt Disney was told he lacked imagination and that his story ideas were not impressive. He was fired from a publication, then had more businesses that failed. It wasn’t until the premier of his first movie, Snow White, that he found fame and doors opened up for him.

Albert Einstein, had difficulty learning and communicating like the rest of his classmates. Einstein went from being a problem student to winning the Nobel Prize in physics for his discovery of the photoelectric effect.

There you have it, they never gave up and neither will I. How about you? Where are you when it comes to keeping the momentum going? Are you going to give up, or are you going to keep running until you see what’s on the other side of winning!
