Assessment of mould colonisation and establishment can be done effectively by following the international guidelines issued by the IICRC, termed S520-2015. Biosafety staff is accredited with this organisation, also adhered to other international guidelines and regulations.
Virtually all commercial and residential sites have some degree of mould, spores and fungi present from the outside air. This is normal, and for most individuals presents no issues. When unusual events such as persistent leaks, flooding or major contamination occur, there is a risk that conditions of moisture, temperature and microbiological species present, can combine to establish mould colonies. If these conditions continue, species can flourish, that is harmful to most of the population, and severely so, for sensitized individuals. Accurate information on what species are present, the conditions that exist and why they have occurred is critical to a real solution to these situations. A calm, independent and evidence-based approach to mould assessment is essential.
A cost effective and scientifically valid set of air, surface samples are collected, and interpreted along with data collected for; solids moisture, humidity and temperature. We use accredited, independent laboratories for microbial analysis and supply you with a definitive and defensible written report. Our approach is science based with attention to value.
Biosafety is not associated with a cleaning company, our work in this area is as an independent assessor, who will give you reliable and independent information on what issues a site has, and the types of remediation methods the IICRC would recommend.
