This is all just menopause or is it?
I was sick! Sick of hearing my symptoms were all just menopause, sick of hearing about menopause, sick of feeling like I did and sick of being told my blood tests looked normal.
I was grieving for a baby I was never going to have, sex was painful and I felt old before my time.
I was chronically fatigued, I could barely walk, let alone get up, shower and eat.
I was brain fogged, I couldn't watch anything flashy on the TV, the flashing was too sensitive for my eyes, black and white movies were all I could stand.
I was alone, I felt so alone.
I rug that housed my life was pulled from under me in what seemed like a week. My home, my career, my fertility, my life. How could this possibly all just be menopause?
Ladies, it wasnt! I went to 9 different specialists who labelled me with POI and chronic fatigue syndrome and told me to go on hrt. HRT at that time turned out to be a disaster (Please read this blog before you decide not to go on it though, as later I did go back to HRT and I am glad I did)
External Stressors
These are the main things that we probably would think about when we think about stress:
The list goes on....
Internal Stressors
Are a little more sneaky these are things that can go under our radar and we don't learn about them until the Dis-ease process is well underway.
These often go unnoticed for a while as normal symptoms, when you catch yourself saying " oh my period is all over the place it has been for years" (Not Normal) Oh Constipation had it for years (Not Normal) Headaches yeah I get them weekly (Not Normal) you get the gist.
Percieved Stressors
These are when you perceive something to be stressful because of a past experience you had. Yet the person next to you may not to perceive it to be stressful at all. The thing is with perceived stress our body doesn't know the difference between real and imagined, so if we think something is stressful the body will switch on its stress defences.
