If you ever tried to imagine what The Garden Of Eden looked like, Ngorongoro Crater is probably a good example. This geographic wonder is referred to as The Cradle of Mankind. Ngorongoro Crater offers something that none of the National Parks can - one of the most unique and extraordinary landscapes. It is the world’s largest inactive and unfilled volcanic caldera created by a volcanic explosion over two million years ago. Ngorongoro Crater is a true paradise for wildlife due to its permanent water source and the green nutritious pastures on the crater floor all year round! There are an estimated 30,000 animals ranging from leopard, cheetah, elephant, and hyena to warthog, buffalo, and impala. This area is also the habitat corridor for the elephants passing from West Kilimanjaro to Amboseli, a very remote area with one single road passing through the volcanic rocky scrubland. You will also visit The Oltepesi Woodland area, which is one of the gems of the West Kilimanjaro wildlife management area. Many of the famous pictures of elephants below Kilimanjaro have been taken in this area. The woodland is rich in wildlife, and you can spot zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and Grants gazelle and, if you are lucky, you might spot lesser kudu.
