Non-Profit Food and Farm-Based Education | United States
About
Yellow Farmhouse Education Center, a non-profit organization located in southeastern Connecticut, is dedicated to connecting people to each other and to where their food comes from through culinary and farm-based education. By imparting knowledge about the cultivation and distribution of food, we strive to inspire meaningful changes that address climate concerns, enhance environmental and community well-being, and increase access to nutritious food. Our programs reach all age groups, offering immersive experiences both on the farm and in the kitchen. Additionally, we actively contribute to high school culinary education by developing curriculum and providing resources for educators. We joined the Incubator because we are transitioning from a start-up organization to an established non-profit in the food education space. We believe that by laying a strong foundation now, we can ensure sustained growth and prosperity for our organization in the future.

About
Simple Soil Solutions helps conscious growers and grazers enrich their land and lives. We do this by helping connect our partners to their deepest truths and unique expressions, and link to information and people who can support them. We immerse ourselves in the life and work of Regeneration & Transformation. We research ways to grow nutrient dense food profitably, and wrap what we are learning and evolving into transformative educational experiences. We develop new concepts and learning connections for the (Soil) Health Movement. We develop awareness so that we can better allow Nature to teach us how to best support her - while effectively managing our own energy. We develop humans to become amazing partners with Nature to support Nature’s MIRACLES and POWER to heal our ecosystems and communities. We offer four-season transformational mentorship programs, including live on-farm experiential workshops. We connect conscious growers and grazers to their deepest truest expressions of their potential through small group mentorship programs. We also offer training opportunities wanting to learn more on their own.We celebrate the beginning of our tenth year as a company specializing in Soil Rejuvenation, Regenerative, Adaptive Grazing, Growing, Land & Ecological Design. This year, in the With LIFE incubator, we look forward to receiving the next download and evolution that helps us harvest learnings from the previous years, distill more of our purpose so that we can become more effective and profitable while nourishing health for our team. We are thrilled to share this experience and walk this path with our fellow cohort, including the incredible mentors who birthed this process.

Residential Real Estate Development | United States
About
Our purpose is to build new, walkable communities with a high quality of life, in a way that regenerates the environment so that future generations can thrive. Our replicable concept aligns the long-term interests of the community with those of the on-site ecological steward/farmer, who, rather than a developer, leads the overall design, especially that of the farm.Specifically: We are building a series of Nature Towns, each featuring an 80-acre mixed-use town surrounded by at least 240 acres of organic, regenerative farm/green infrastructure that feeds residents and protects them from climate change effects such as drought, flood and wildfire. Municipal green bonds are used to finance green infrastructure: large quantities of soil minerals and compost, along with earthworks (broadacre permaculture) to direct and store stormwater (32 acres of deep ponds), and approx. 750,000 trees.Pilot project near Austin, TX, will feature a solar hybrid microgrid and agritourism. The ultimate goal is to achieve full self-sufficiency and sustainability with a circular economy that generates no “waste” that cannot be reused. The town consists of 1280 lots for single-family, multifamily and live-work retail buildings supporting 3,000 people. A recent triple-bottom-line impact / cost-benefit analysis by Autocase documented a $780 million lifecycle impact for approximately $1 billion of property tax value per Nature Town.Note: The image above is of Neuf Brisach FR, designed by Louis XIV and his architect Vauban. It illustrates the spatial dimensions of an 80-acre community surrounded by ~240 acres of green infrastructure (ramparts in this case).
