You don't have to be great to start but you have to start to be great
New Dawn Was officially Opened in 2014 however its roots go back to 2010, when Lee started hiring a hall to do some training with a friend, as the months went by more friends and family members had joined in the training sessions and by 2013 the sessions had around 20 regular attendees who all showed an interest in a more structured learning path, so Lee wrote a syllabus incorporating various elements of the martial arts he had trained in, added a belt system and thus New Dawn was created and was officially launched as a brand name with a logo in 2014, the logo of the phoenix represents a new beginning, a New Dawn!
The club has grown from hiring a hall once a week to a full-time facility with a matted dojo complete with an on-site gym,
We are also proud be the 3rd Combat Performance Centre worldwide offering strike training on the Powerkube, alongside Powerkube HQ in Lutterworth and The UFC in the USA.
We offer classes as well as small group and individual training.

RON STEVENSON
I was originally a rugby player from the age of 7 years old, playing most of my rugby during the years I served in the armed forces, retiring from the sport at the age of 36, when I left the forces to settle in Tiverton. I was also a keen weightlifter, competing in power lifting competitions, attaining a couple of Masters 1 British unequipped titles, in the British Amateur Weight Lifting Association (BAWLA)
My back ground in Martial Arts Originally was in Judo, which has developed into me training in the New Dawn Martial Arts blended combat system, where I hold a black belt. I enjoy the teaching aspects, helping students to realise their potential. But I equally like to train as a student myself, trying to improve on the skills that I have learnt.
I like to keep myself fit and my outlook on life is, “ you only get one chance at it, so live it to the full

I originally started in Ballet at age 3 and continued until i was 21. The strength, flexibility and conditioning of that served me well when I started kickboxing, which i did for 6 years. Then I took a break from ballet and martial arts and life took me on many exciting adventures before finally deciding to get back into it where I discovered New Dawn, which reignited my passion for it and since then I've been working my way up through the belt system towards my blackbelt and was invited to join the instructor program, I now train several times a week under our chief instructor and help teach the childrens classes and the Ladies Cardio kickboxing
