Small Things Affect Your Brand
Everyone wants to be great, but many times, failing in small things that prevent amazing success. In reality, everything affects your brand, and if you want a 5-Star Character Brand, meticulous attention to detail is required. Here’s the start of a list of things you don’t normally think about, but probably should, because it does affect how you will be perceived.
Master Your Mood: There are plenty of reasons to be disgruntled, but don’t take it out on the audience! They don’t care about your problems and probably think you have the greatest job in the world. Your mood affects your performance, so create a positive atmosphere. Consider adopting a routine to get into a positive headspace before turning on a microphone.
Be Nice: Never underestimate the power of personal connections with your audience. You earn fans one by one, so take care to shape your brand at all times.
Endorse With Care: I hope there's a line of advertisers waiting for your endorsement, but be careful who you say "yes" to. Endorsements can be lucrative, but they can also impact your brand. They’re not all good for you, no matter how much the talent fee is.
Each endorsement makes a statement. Saying “yes” to those that help your profile while simply refusing anything that is against your character profile.
Social Media
Do your social media interactions reflect your character brand profile? Does every engagement enhance your personality? Maybe someone ghost-posts your name. That’s fine if they write in your voice, but realize that every message affects your brand. Every single message moves your brand forward or gets in your way. Only allow content that reflects your persona and brand values. Remember, consistency is key to building trust and loyalty among your audience.
Quality Video Content: Video content is a more and more important for podcasters and radio shows. It is a powerful tool for reaching and engaging with your audience, but just because it’s easy doesn’t mean it’s simple. To make the most of it, invest in proper lighting and equipment to create visually appealing videos and carefully plan your video content to align with your brand image and messaging. By ensuring quality video content, you’ll enhance your brand image and create a more memorable experience for your viewers.
When it comes to your character's brand, everything is important. Each time the audience interacts with you is an opportunity to enhance or harm your image. Pay attention to the details. They all matter. Nothing is big or too small.
