Career-Life Situation

I'm Stuck in My Job

While playing the organ before a meeting at church, instead of playing what was written, I was improvising based on the music in front of me. Until I didn’t know what I should play next. While I play well, I’m not truly knowledgeable about music theory. That means I can play myself into a corner that’s hard to get out of.

Getting stuck in a job is a similar predicament. Maybe you don’t know enough to get unstuck. It’s fortunate you found this VidBook. Here are two approaches to getting unstuck. Select one or both.

Approach 1 – Build your capability to market yourself

THE OUTPUT

You have the content to show you’re valuable. That usually leads to having the confidence to present your value, since you now know what your real value is. You're no longer guessing about your value or comparing yourself to others using insufficient data. Your confidence, along with the proof of your value, can lead to that next job.

If you're happy in a job, it shows in all other parts of your life. So if you're not satisfied with your job, it's unlikely you'll be satisfied with your life.

The Meaningful Competence strategy develops your real value for your job. That real value can help you know and build your value in other parts of your life.
