// Things I love about Door Monkeys:

1. Keep the baby out -- this might seem like a weird thing to list here, but I thought it was worth mentioning to say that this product does what it's supposed to do!

And, when your baby grows and becomes more capable (like flipping over the plastic toy tub to stand on it to reach the Door Monkey.....that happened.....ugh!), it's no big deal because you just move the Door Monkey up a bit higher on the door.  Problem solved!

2. Let the big kids in -- my preschooler has a Door Monkey on her bedroom door, which she greatly appreciates.  She can get in and out of her room easily, but she can keep her baby brother out.  So helpful!

Furthermore, as a mom, I definitely appreciate being able to give her a tool to be able to take care of her own needs like this!

3. Easy to use -- I find the Door Monkey super easy to use!  See for yourself in the little video I took below!  (Haha!  I never realized that my door was so squeaky until I took a video of it!)

4. Easy to install -- as you can see in the video above, it's also super easy to install the Door Monkey.  You just put it on your door.  Done!  No tools required.  When you first get it, it's ready to go right out of the package!

5. No-pinch mode -- truth be told, I don't use the Door Monkey in the "flipped around" mode (intended for use as a bumper, of sorts) so little fingers don't get slammed in the door.  However, it is an added bonus feature that I thought was worth mentioning for a second (and I demonstrated it briefly in the video above).

6. Air circulation -- I appreciate that the Door Monkey allows whatever room(s) to be off-limits while still allowing for air flow because the door remains cracked open.  Yay for baby proofing without things becoming stuffy!

// Things I don't love about Door Monkeys:

1. The price -- if you're like me, you look at the price and are like, "Huh?  You want me to pay that for a baby-proofing door thing-a-ma-jiggy?" 

So, if you're having a little sticker shock, I get you.  (As mentioned above, though, we love them and find them to be highly worth it.  So, we just suck it up and shell out the dough for these puppies).

2. The little nubby thing that breaks off -- inevitably someone (adult or child) ends up accidentally dropping the Door Monkey.  Sometimes, but not all the time, the little thumb tab thing (see the photo below) ends up breaking off. 

It's not something that can really be fixed.  It's a bummer when a Door Monkey breaks, but fortunately, it doesn't impact the performance of the Door Monkey.

3. Not universal -- this isn't something that has impacted me personally.  However, if you have doors that are not the standard thickness and such (for whatever reason), then the Door Monkey won't work out for you.
