ULTIMATE LIFE MASTERY SUMMIT
Pre-Summit Challenge
The Pre-Summit Life Mastery Challenge includes Andrew Weil, John Assaraf, Gabor Maté, Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, & Tara Brach!
Challenge 6: After watching Dr. Brach’s video, take out your journal to reflect on your current or recent relationship with the community and social engagement with the community and the world at large. Perhaps take a few moments to sit silently, tuning into your body and heart. Reflect on your relationship to community and social engagement, both in terms of meeting your needs for community and your need to contribute to life. Ask your inner guiding intelligence or heart what you might be needing in this sphere of your life or how the world might be calling you to show up and serve in ways that would be appropriate, healthy and sustainable for you. Choose one small, positive step you could take either to create more community in your life or to serve your communities or the world in some way. Write this down as a commitment in your journal. Use the principles from the John Assaraf video to turn this into a repeatable behavior and a new positive habit on your path of life mastery.
Challenge #5: After watching Marianne Williamson’s video, take out your journal to reflect on your important relationships and your current or recent state of relational health and happiness. Perhaps take a few moments to sit silently, tuning into your body and heart. Reflect on one or more of your most important relationships. Ask your inner guiding intelligence or heart what that relationship may be needing. Perhaps you need to give that relationship more time and attention in general, perhaps you could make a generous gesture of connection, listening or support for the other person. Or perhaps you need to work on your boundaries to keep a relationship in a healthy win/win framework. Maybe you actually need to seek some counseling support with a particular relationship. Make a commitment to attend to your important personal and professional relationships and relational needs and to develop your emotional intelligence, skills and wisdom in the relationship domain of your life. Choose one small, positive step you could take with one of your important relationships and write that down in your journal as a commitment. Use the principles from the John Assaraf video to turn this into a repeatable behavior and a new positive habit on your path of life mastery.
Challenge #4: After watching Dr. Chopra’s video, take out your journal to reflect on your spiritual path. Perhaps take a few moments to sit silently, tuning into your body, heart and spirit. Ask your inner guiding intelligence, higher self or spirit what it is needing. Perhaps you need to spend more time in solitude and self-reflection or meditation, more time outdoors in the natural world, or more time engaging in spiritual fellowship with others. Make a commitment to attend to your spiritual needs and to develop your spiritual path and practices.
Challenge #3: After watching Dr. Maté's video, take out your journal to reflect on your current or recent emotional state and level of emotional resilience. Perhaps take a few moments to sit silently, tuning into your body and your heart. Ask your heart what it is needing. Perhaps you need to have a conversation with someone close to you or share your feelings with a trusted friend or loved one. Perhaps you just need to spend more time reflecting and journaling on your feelings. Make a commitment to attend to your emotional needs and to develop your support network of trusted friends, loved ones or a counselor/minister you can share your feelings with appropriately.
Challenge #2: After watching John Assaraf’s video on how to create a new habit, get your journal out and reflect on some small change you would like to make in your life. Keep it small and doable. It could be the change to your physical health regimen you worked with in Challenge #1 or any other small step forward you would like to take on the path of life mastery. Once decided, write it down as a commitment. Then follow John Assaraf’s guidance to begin wiring this behavior into your brain as a new positive habit on your path of life mastery.
Challenge #1: After watching Dr. Weil’s video, take a few minutes to sit quietly in order to tune into and listen to your body. Reflect on your present state of physical health and conditioning without judgment. Ask your body what it is needing. Based on these reflections, decide to incorporate a small change in your physical health regimen and write it down in your journal or somewhere as a commitment. Perhaps also write the commitment on a note to put on your refrigerator or other place you’ll be sure to see it. This new commitment could have to do with diet, sleep/rest, hydration, or exercise. Make sure it is a small step and a very doable commitment. Set yourself up for success.
