A little over 12 years ago, I had a health crisis. I learned what extreme fatigue is (hint: it's not just feeling really tired). I couldn't sleep. I started having panic attacks and horrible anxiety. In a short amount of time, I shot up FOUR sizes. No amount of dieting or exercise made a bit of difference. I started experiencing reflux symptoms, and reactions to multiple foods. I tried everything - nothing worked.
I WAS A WRECK.
Finally, I got to the point that if something didn't change, I was not going to be ok. And I HAD to be ok, so I could take care of my kids.
After tons of research, I started implementing small changes in my lifestyle, learning how to care for myself instead of just barely surviving. This was the first turning point.
This is what chronic, severe stress does. See, I had been in an immensely stressful marriage. I didn't know it at the time (because he didn't beat me), but it was an abusive relationship. Narcissistic abuse.
This kind of stress can only truly be comprehended if you have experienced something similar, or someone close to you has.
Now, I help other women whose health has been wrecked by stress, and not only from trauma and abuse.
The common threads are digestive problems, stubborn weight gain, anxiety, insomnia, chronic infections, hormonal imbalances, hypothyroidism, and often a caretaker and giver mentality. You know, we give and give of ourselves without making sure our own needs are met.
Because I believe strongly in the mind-body connection, I focus on more than just working on nutritional needs.
Mindset, learning healthy boundaries, addressing trauma, and true self care are equally important in the journey to healing.
Nutritionally, I use real food and a mineral balancing program personalized using hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA). This piece of the puzzle was key in getting me past some pretty huge hurdles.
I spent years figuring out what was causing my severe exhaustion and other symptoms on my own, after having multiple doctors either gaslight me or flat out telling me it was all in my head.
Now, I'm actually grateful for that experience! After all those hours of research, trial and error, and then training in functional nutrition, I get to help other women! I want to empower every woman to take responsibility for her own health, and the health of her family.
I want to show every single woman who feels this way that there IS hope for healing. That you can trust that you know your own body. That taking care of yourself, too, is NOT selfish but actually essential. I also excel in mindset coaching and teaching how to simplify things to make them doable and not quite so overwhelming.
THIS is why I say I am a thriving hot mess. I do not have all my ducks in a row, I am not perfectly organized. I am not perfect at all. So if I can heal, you can too!

Too often in my life I’ve turned to a professional for help and have been left with even MORE questions and so saying that Megan went above and beyond does not do her work justice. I very much looked forward to all of our appointments. Each time I’d learn more and more about my body, and how my life had impacted where I was. She gave me simple and easy to adapt “habits” and advice on things to work in to my life as a busy mom. I couldn’t believe how seamless she made everything!
