Terms and Conditions of Payment
and Cancellation for
Booked Sessions

1. Session Confirmation: A session with Dr King must be confirmed, at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment. This confirmation is necessary to secure the session slot as we operate a waiting list for bookings.
2. Payment Requirement: The payment for each therapy session should be made at least 48 hours in advance before the confirmed session takes place if self-funded. If you have an excess on your policy, this must be paid directly to Dr King prior to the first session. You also need to provide your insurance details or payment provider information to confirm the booking. This is to secure Dr Kings time and expertise for the scheduled session. If you are referred from, Gaia Clinic or My Therapist Online, payment will be made through these organisations following their guidelines.
3. Accepted Payment Methods: Payments can be made via electronic funds transfer. You will be sent an invoice prior to the session with the necessary payment details. You can also pay by credit or debit card.
4. Cancellation Policy: If you wish to cancel a scheduled therapy session, it must be done at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment (exact timings required, if in person sessions to allow no cost to Dr King for room cancellation, e.g. a 9am session one day must be cancelled before 9am the previous day). This fee also compensates the therapist for the time slot that could have been offered to another client. Failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in the client being charged fully for the missed session.
5. Cancellation Notification: Cancellations must be communicated directly by text message or email.
6. Rescheduling Policy: If the client wishes to reschedule a session, it should be done at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. The rescheduled session is subject to availability, and the original payment will be transferred to the new appointment unless it is a late cancellation (less than 24 hours) and then the full fee will be charged

7. Missed Sessions: If the client fails to attend a scheduled session without prior cancellation notice or communication, the client will be charged the full session fee for the missed appointment.
8. Refunds: Refunds for cancelled sessions will be provided only if the cancellation is made within the agreed-upon timeframe (24 hours before the session).
9. Correspondence to or meetings with other professionals/family members or therapeutic reports: The fee charged is for the session only and all other time taken reading documentation, liaising with the client outside of sessions beyond appointment consideration or pre-arranged homework information , and corresponding with others will be charged at the agreed hourly rate or proportion thereof. For insurance clients, this is not covered by your policy beyond brief treatment plans to your insurer. Therefore, if required, this will incur additional fees.
10. Session Timings: The length of sessions are what is known as a therapeutic hour (50 minutes). This means they will end at 50 minutes, unless a key element of processing occurs in the last moments of your session. The rationale for this is that your therapist is undertaking your notes and is still keeping you in mind in terms of treatment planning.
It is important to carefully review and understand these terms and conditions before confirming a therapy session. By scheduling a session and making the payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
