Frequently Asked Questions
We want you to be sure that you understand exactly what you are getting when you register for this Coaching Program. Here are some questions that we frequently get asked.
What does the schedule look like?
The Self-Study Program is on your schedule. You choose when and how often you work with the material and practice your facilitation of the exercises.
What can I do to be successful?
The best way to move through the material is to utilize the flow of the Self-Study Syllabus. Although each cohort is customized for each group's needs, the Self-Study Syllabus closely mirrors the typical coaching cohort without the group experience.
How do I fit this into my workload?
We strongly recommend that you find one project, current or upcoming, that you can actively work on during the coaching program. This means that you will plan, prepare and practice facilitating the entire engagement plan for your project. This time that you will spend in the portal, you will be actively engaged in learning about and planning innovative strategies for your project.
How long do I get portal access?
You will receive portal access from the date of first purchase of the Self-Study Program until your subscription is cancelled.
Who will I be in a cohort with?
The typical coaching cohort will be made up of other design professionals, municipal leaders, community organizers, marketing & communications professionals, students and other individuals looking for engagement training.
Although the Self-Study Program does not include a cohort, you can join our PLAYCE Players Community on Facebook.
What sorts of content is in the portal?
The portal is filled with content written specifically for the purposes of advancing the knowledge of our cohort and member participants in the realm of utilizing play in their community engagement practices. We are constantly adding to the content in order to continue to assist in the adaptation and adoption of the PLAYCE methodology for more design professionals, students, municipal leaders and anyone else in the practice of community engagement.
You will find articles, videos, game instruction sheets, methodology instruction sheets, tips, and more.
What will I get out of this?
The intention is for you to personally obtain the knowledge and skills to implement this innovative methodology into your community engagement practices. If done successfully, this may result in improved community and project leader relationships, community members becoming project champions, rapid consensus building, and project budget conservation due to less time spent on design iterations, multiple stakeholder meetings and drawn-out process.
