Yes, I know most people think Margaritas when we're talking Cinco de Mayo, but wine and Mexican food works well too!

I love exploring food and wine pairings -- especially creative ones -- and this will be a good one!

For this virtual tasting, I'm asking you to order a selection of typical Mexican dishes from your favorite Mexican restaurant. I'll give you some specific suggestions, but you're encouraged to be adventurous and order your favorite Mexican foods as well.

I've selected an assortment of six wines that will pair with the primary flavors and textures in most Mexcian food.

This will be an assortment of both dry and sweet, red and white wines. Depending on the current wine availability in late April, a sparkling and/or a rosé may also be included in the six wines.

I encourage you to invite friends and family to join you, as you will need to open and sample all six wines during the tasting. 

This is going to be a very participatory tasting! I will encourage you to share what foods you're trying with the wines and how it affects the flavors.

Obviously, it is my hope that you will learn something about food and wine pairing, find new wines you enjoy, and place an order for those wines after the tasting!
