I focus solely on Functional Medicine, a personalized, patient-centered approach to healthcare that aims to address the root cause of health problems rather than simply treating symptoms. While I do not offer primary care services or prescribe medication, I work alongside my patients' primary care providers to provide a comprehensive approach to their healthcare needs. Therefore, I ask all of my patients to maintain a primary care physician for routine medical care, yearly preventive exams, referrals, and emergencies.
While I am board-certified in Pediatrics, I have been practicing Functional Medicine exclusively for the past ten years, focusing on both pediatrics and adults. In addition, I am also board-certified in Integrative Medicine and have been certified in Functional Medicine since 2014. I have extensive training and clinical experience in gut and immune health, hormonal imbalances, and detoxification. For over a decade, I have had the privilege of working with patients ranging in age from 0 to 65, occasionally seeing patients over 65 who are a great fit for my practice. Roughly 65% of my practice is women, 30% are infants, children, and teens, and 5% are men with gut or immune-related issues.
During your first visit, we will review the comprehensive form(s) you filled out prior to our meeting and explore your concerns and symptoms in detail, along with your medical history and lifestyle, to identify potential triggers and contributing factors. Your personalized treatment plan may include dietary changes, supplements, testing, and lifestyle recommendations. During your second visit, we will reassess your progress using the medical symptom score (aka, MSQ) and track improvements and fine tune your treatment and go over testing results if available. We might need to investigate further for potential toxicity, such as emotional issues, mold-related or sluggish detoxification pathways, to ensure that we are on the right track towards your healing and wellness journey.
The initial visit usually takes about 75 minutes, while follow-up visits are typically 25-45 minutes.
Typically, patients are seen every 4-6 weeks during the initial phase of treatment, with visits spaced out as symptoms improve.
We offer virtual appointments through the Zoom platform, allowing us to conduct thorough consultations and assessments from the comfort of your own home. During these appointments, we will review your medical history, symptoms, and concerns, and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. We also take the time to explain not just the "what" and "how," but most importantly, the "why" behind your treatment plan. Our goal is to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of your health issues, including the root causes, so that you can make informed decisions about your care. You will receive a written copy of your treatment plan, which will include nutrition and lifestyle advice , supplements and testing recommendations.
Please email us at [email protected] with your name, date of birth, email address, insurance information, and the three main health concerns you would like to address. Please note that you must have a primary care provider and that, at this time, all the visits are through Zoom. Once we receive your email, we will contact you within 24-48 hours to schedule an appointment. Thank you for considering our practice for your healthcare needs.
