6-Month Spanish Intensive
A language learning program that fuses coaching, teaching, and collaborative community learning.
**Last year's cohort couldn't travel due to COVID. We're going to give it another shot for 2022 with a tentative end-of-program trip to Cuba, Colombia, OR the Dominican Republic.**

Here are a few answers to our most common questions
How much time do I need to commit to the program?
There will be weekly and biweekly events, including:
- A coaching call (or) Live FB training (90 minutes)
- A language exchange with native speakers (90 minutes)
Other than that, you set your schedule for online classes and other activities in your daily routine. Based on your schedule you may decide that some days will be less and some days will be more. But, we recommend entering with the intention to dedicate 1 - 2 hours per day towards your journey. It is - an intensive!
Our recommended daily time commitment is based on the following checklist for each month in the program:
- Participate in at least 12 online classes

Participate in 4 private one-on-one classes

Engage in an average of 10 minutes of daily real-world conversation

Attend at least 2 language exchanges

Participate in at least 2 coaching sessions (LIVE, not the replay)

Do any weekly homework assignments from coaching sessions
Total minimum commitment = 31 hrs/month or 7.75 hrs/wk
What's the program schedule?
The program is purposefully designed to be flexible for a variety of schedules. That being said, there are 2 events each week that will have a set schedule: (1) Weekly Language Exchanges and (2) Coaching Calls.

Weekly Language Exchanges. All Spanish Intensive members get access to the Conversation Club and the weekly Wednesday Spanish/English Language Exchanges.

Coaching Calls are recorded and available for replay in the Spanish Intensive private portal area. The coaching call schedule for each upcoming program will be based on a poll of the enrolled participants. Options are generally:
- Mondays @ 12 pm or 1 pm EST
- Tuesdays @ 5, 6, or 7 pm EST
- Thursdays @ 5, 6, or 7 pm EST
- Thursdays @ 11:30 am or 3 pm EST
Is this self-guided only or are there classes?
The program is a hybrid of coaching, teaching, and collaborative community learning. It includes online classes, coaching calls, real-world practice via language exchanges, and personalized vocabulary and conversation support.
We're not leaving you to do this solo! Nah.
We believe that language learning is best done in community. Specifically, you will be guided through a path and a process to integrate a new language into your day-to-day life in what we call a "Local Immersion." You will receive a variety of supports. And, we often offer additional events and activities based on the needs of each group.
