Amazon advertiser accelerator review - aka FFOS - Amazon wants to help sellers run their ads?? Is it worth it?

Hi guys, this is farah welcome to my channel. I talk about all things selling on amazon and if you are into that then do hit subscribe and hit the bell to be notified when I post new videos.
So today's video is a good one and you want to watch it till the end because I let amazon people run my ppc for 10 days.. I thought let me try this because hopefully they would have answers and know what they are doing??? So stay till the end of this video.. I will tell you exactly how much I earned per order after paying for ads in those 10 days. And what was my earning per order in the previous 30 days.
So let's get started.
Amazon is heavily investing in hiring teams & building systems that will ultimately increase their advertising revenue as a company. Amazon ads console has a lot of the features that sellers have been paying to other SAAS companies to. Filters.. Reports that allow us sellers to make better decisions. So Amazon is building a second service which is basically internal ad management teams that can be assigned to your seller account and they will run amazon ads for you, they will optimise current campaigns & create new ones.

So coming back to this service is now called amazon advertiser accelerator. It's free right now and again any private label seller or brand owner or anyone who is running ads on amazon can get this service. It's a bit like the translation service, it used to be free and then eventually they started charging for it. I think the criteria they have is you as a seller/advertiser have to be spending at least 5k per ad type. Or just min in SP 5k to be eligible for this service.
So in this accelerator what you get is this
-you can choose to let them run all 3 types of ads available to you like SP, SB, SD. This was previously called full funnel onboarding service. FFOS.
- As I said you must spend min 5k per ad type to be eligible for FFOS.
- YOu will be assigned an account manager & you are given 90 days in the free service by which time you will have enough time to decide to carry on or not.
- The way optimisations work is they will send them as suggestions in your ad console, you can view them under the bell icon and you have to manually approve & apply/ accept them. So far so good..
-If you go for Full funnel and let them manage all ad types, which is what i did. You get bi-weekly calls and you can discuss whatever strategy change you want etc.
I thought ok let just try this out & see if this free service can rival a managed service by an external company/agency. The best experience I have had so far is with SAAS & managed service.
I have tried an agency from the UK, and one from abroad..I left them eventually. Because of other issues, won't go into that in today's video.. Because it's all about the Amazon advertiser accelerator..
And here is what happened in those days.. Let me take you to my screen and show you..
-SP/SB & SD
The Most stressful 10 days as we knew were in low season & this isn't going to plan or expected… especially when you do the numbers that the TACOS shot up by 4% points up.
Even when you look at ROAS & ACOS for the last 30 days. It was unsustainable..
At the end of the 10 days, I could not handle the stress anymore as I knew that based on historical performance in my business.. I will be losing revenue in the coming months.. Conventional wisdom suggests that in low season you pull back on ad spend & conserve funds for high season. Amazon strategy & requirements were completely opposite.
They wanted us to increase our ad spend 5k per ad type..
The emphasis on SD was just insane.. The CPC in SD for us jumped up ridiculously.. From an avg cpc 14, 15, 17p jumped to 45p per click.. The suggested bid used to be under £1 to go up to 2 to 3 per click.. This whole push for Sd ads & cpc sky rocketing happened in Aug. We lost massive amounts of sales & paid orders in our peak month & were scrambling to understand..why campaigns that have matured suddenly tanked in performance and that was a big pain point for me to sign up to amazon advertiser accelerator..
The explanation as far as I understand is after all the meetings I have had is CPC is ultimately a demand/supply issue.. Amazon does not tinker with that directly but I think Amazon is driving the demand up massively by pushing sellers/advertisers to run SD ads which are supposed to increase brand awareness.. Whatever the heck that means for a seller making pennies but yea .. how does that serve our long term goal of staying profitable.. The SD ads are just typical banner ads which
The other biggest issue I had wit the service was 3 people working on my account optimizations, never once turned off a single target!! No Sir!
I made 0 profit in fact as I shared my number for those 10 days I had to borrow 800 to pay for this 10 day experiment.. Just goes to prove there is no such thing as FREE lunch.. You pay for it in other ways.. I exited the service after 10 days & turned off all their campaigns.
