Perfect little breakfast diner. Absolutely wonderful staff. They are very warm and welcoming, but the food might be the best part. Hearty portions at a good price, and great breakfast combinations on the menu.
We always feel comfortable and welcomed at Grandma's House, where the staff is friendly and professional and the food is consistently good. It is our favorite destination in La Porte for breakfast. So glad things are going well at this establishment -- just shows that kindness and good food are the key ingredients for a successful eatery. Thanks Grandma's, see you soon.
Grandma's House of Pancakes is yet another locally owned and operated gem located in downtown Laporte.
Know that the weekends usually have a little bit of a wait, depending upon the time of the day. It's never been more than 10-15 minutes for a party of two.
Every breakfast item, traditional or Mexican, I have ever tried was really good. My boyfriend is big fan of their steak and eggs - this is saying a lot because he is an *extremely* picky eater. If I could recommend anything, it would be "Grandma's" anything - omelette, burrito, skillet - and a glass of their freshly squeezed orange juice full of pulpy goodness.
Try it out if you haven't been!!
As of 4/25, masks are still required in the restaurant until you are seated at your table.
