East Carolina University, part of the University of North Carolina system, is a public university committed to service and research. The Center for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering (CSE3) at ECU works to enhance public awareness of renewable energy technologies and nature-based solutions through focus on workforce development, research, industry partnerships, and community engagement.
The ECU Center for Survey Research (CSR) is a part of the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences and offers various project-related services ranging from web-based surveys to telephone surveys. The CSR serves public agencies, private clients, university scholars, and students in carrying out research-related projects. It has the facilities and expertise to conduct a variety of customized research initiatives. Specific services include developing surveys, structuring questions, and suggesting appropriate methodologies and sampling strategies.
The ECU team is partnering with CLEANcarolinas to develop informed strategies for a pervasive culture of diversity, equity, inclusiveness, and accessibility (DEIA) across the clean energy innovation ecosystem. The team is conducting broad research to identify various community organizations and partners working toward DEIA in the Carolinas.
The ECU CSE3 leads the ocean wave energy technology component of the Innovation Inventory thrust as the subject matter expert.
