Lions Mane - The Ultimate Brain Food

Health & Wellness    |    Posted By Jenny Griffith

Experiencing a lot of mental chatter lately? Does your mind take you down the wrong road some days and you can't get out of anxiety, worry, and overthinking?

This has been something that I've been dealing with my whole life. I tend to go down the avenue with racing, speedy thoughts, and do do do lifestyle versus depression-like get stuck, lazy, and anti-social. I tend to like to be running on the rat wheel so I wanted to share a little bit about a new fungi that I've been learning about and using in my personal life that has been quite effective.

I've noticed lately that a lot of people are into mushrooms- all kinds actually-they're quite trendy- for a good reason!

Lion's mane is not only beautiful but actually pretty easy to grow. I've been buying the lion's mane kits and growing my own mushrooms which is such fun- and how amazing it is to have fresh mushrooms. But- why do we take lion's mane?

Lion's mane has been enriched with an active compound that delays neuron cell death in animal studies. Specifically, it was used to treat rats with all Alzheimers, Parkinson's, depression anxiety, strokes- not only does it delay cell death but it also shows promise in regenerating nerves and promoting recovery from neurodegenerative diseases. If only we could have doctors prescribing these fungi to the elderly...

Lion's mane can reduce memory impairment including spatial memory, visual memory, and short-term memory, the recommended dosage is 3-5 grams a day.

You can also make Lions Mane tacos and many more recipes because they taste amazing!!!!!!

Love,

Jenny

P.S. Coffee or cacao are great vehicles for this tonic of Lions Mane as it carries neuro pathways to feed the brain!
