While Ericka is reading a book one day, she hears the Lord tell her that "She will have her own talk show one day." ON her 18th birthday, she gets her first business license and soon leaves for college at Western Washington University to study Communications to begin working on this dream. She writes her first training curriculum on self-love.

Ericka transfers back to Howard University and continues teaching her self-love workshops and speaking. She continues making local TV and radio appearances and begins her first book.

Ericka becomes a single mother and decides to fight for her dreams in spite of incredible odds. She spends the next years struggling to raise her daughter and begins to work corporate jobs as she continues speaking and training part-time. She soon moves back home to Seattle, WA.

Ericka feels like she is floating away from her dreams and decides to leave corporate America and go into a speaking, training and coaching business full-time (without a single penny saved). She is also called as an itinerant minister as she builds her business.

Following the instruction of the Holy Spirit and support of her family, Ericka relocates from Seattle, WA to Raleigh, NC. She begins to receive profound "downloads" from the Lord and her prophetic hearing greatly elevates. She writes 5 more books and continues national and international training. In addition to her company, The Convergence Center LLC, she founds The Alliance and The Kingdom Ministers Association. She continues her transformational facilitation work, courses and speaking & training.

After working tirelessly with thousands of people over the last 14 years to help them become who they were created to be and build something extraordinary, she taped 11 episodes for the first season in October 2020. The Ericka James Show: Life on Purpose is launched into the world.
