From our years of experience working with those who experience anxiety in their relationships, we have noticed that EVERY year around the Holidays, triggers abound and our clients’ anxiety SPIKES!
Here’s why this happens:
The holidays are the shouldiest time of year.
👉We get shoulds from culture of how we SHOULD be feeling. We should be feeling happy, festive, joyful, etc.
👉We get shoulds from our families - SO many shoulds from family. *Cue your passive aggressive aunt making comments about why you’re not married yet at the dinner table*
👉We absorb shoulds about how we need to be feeling about our relationship this time of year - excitedly giving gifts to our partners, feeling in love, having zero conflict, etc.
And for those with anxiety, these shoulds really STICK.
They cause you to question yourself, lead you to feeling inadequate, and ultimately make your relationship anxiety skyrocket to an all time high.
There’s also a lot of anniversaries of deaths, family traumas, and past pains that resurface.
PLUS - the colder, darker months of the season can have a HUGE impact on your mood.
All of these stressors can lead your body and mind to be on hyper alert - so you’re more critical of your partner, you’re feeling disconnected, and just feeling straight up more anxious than ever.
It’s incredibly important that you get support during this time so that you can face those shoulds head-on with confidence and empowerment!
In this 2 hour workshop, SHAKE OFF THE SHOULDS, we are going to help you claim your power and move through the Holiday triggers in a creative way!
In this workshop, you’ll learn to:
🗣Identify the shoulds that get put on your relationship and understand why they trigger your anxiety.
💋Release the fear and shame around the shoulds and feel more anchored in your body when you face triggers.
💃🏽Connect to your own authentic expression and learn to feel empowered in your choice to be with your partner…even if one of your family members makes a snarky comment at the family reunion.
