Episode 020: Rated E - Sex, Sensuality and Self Confidence in Your Diabetes Journey with Erika Arff
Confidence and sexuality can be a deep rooted topic especially when you are living with a chronic condition. Any shame and guilt we carry in our disability can easily carry through to other areas of our life.
Inside this episode, I'm hanging out with Erika Arff, Sex & Confidence Coach and fellow type one diabetic.
Inside this episode, she teaches us how to change the habit of compartmentalize our diabetes and bring it into our self love journey.
Erika Eileen works through the lens of HAES (health at every size) and sex positivity. Erika is a Type 1 Diabetic & has been living with this disability for 21 years. Erika believes that every person is deserving of confidence inside and outside of the bedroom.
Erika has been featured in Cosmopolitan and was nominated as a Top 10 Sex & Love Experts on TikTok. Erika encourages her audience to define confidence for themselves and what it means to be a rad, bad bitch. When she’s not shaking her ass on TikTok, you can find her skateboarding on the boardwalk, listening to Latin music, with an overpriced iced coffee in hand.

Lissie Poyner
Certified Health Coach, Personal Trainer & Founder of Needles and Spoons
Integrative Diabetes Health Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, owner of Needles and Spoons Health & Wellness, and creator Keeping It 100. I help overwhelmed people with Type One Diabetes just like you gain more predictability in their blood sugars so they can finally take their life plans off hold.
I was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 19, and to say that I was lost would be an understatement. In the years that followed my diagnosis, through trial, (a lot of) error, and education, I took my own A1C from a 7.1 to a consistent 5.7 and learned what it really takes to achieve predictability in my blood sugars. I also brought my Ulcerative Colitis into remission!
