The Missing Link - Connecting Health to Work
When I say it's not working, it's not moving fast enough. It's not resulting in sustainable employment outcomes. It feels like it's taking too long and it feels like it's incredibly expensive. My investigation showed me that we are living in an age where we are time, energy and resource poor. Where we are constantly being asked to be mindful of how long an activity is going to take, how much activity is going to cost.
It's time to mature our thinking and our capability and strategically empower our clients to connect their recovery to their reason for working.
Would you like to be part of someone's recovery?
Not only do we need to relearn how to use our bodies again, often we are lacking in the confidence to be able to turn up for a job interview, lacking in the self-esteem to know that we have knowledge and skills to offer.
At Purple Co we know that one of the BEST ways to help people return to work is to help them find a work trial placement - and this video explains the two placements we are currently seeking.
5 ways we can make a difference NOW for people recovering and preparing to return to work.
It’s been a bit of a ride in the past 6 weeks or so as we learn how to work in different ways; manage forced change and be confronted by the competing demands in our life.
Tis the season to be not-so-jolly
I have been reminded this week of the added pain that comes when someone is not engaged at work or with the workplace. That is the pain that comes from not being invited or able to share in the end-of-year activities that a lot of workplaces engage in.
Purple Co Success Story
We developed a comprehensive and fully integrated approach to helping our client resume his independence, including exercise and strengthening, social supports, offering flexible start and finish times to manage the demands of travel; and providing a structured graduated return to work. Graduating both exposure to tasks and working hours.
Have you noticed these 3 things missing from a lot of vocational services?
In the past, we at Purple Co have tried to use a range of Disability Employment Service (DES) providers, with variable and often lackluster success to assist with the work trial placement & job brokerage part of the equation. Our previous attempts at job brokerage have been yielded variable and often lackluster results.
