What Do You Want?

What is Life Coaching, and what's the difference between Performance Coaching? 

When I’m asked about my work, I never really know what to say. To say “I’m a Life Coach” doesn’t really cut it. I'm much more of a performance coach. 

So what is performance coaching?

As a performance coach in Bournemouth, I sometimes say I help people have more of what they want, and less of what they don’t want.

I could also say, I help people get out of their own ways to create a life that they love.

Whatever I say, my work is all about the inner and outer game of life.

What do I mean by the inner game?

The inner game is all about your inner state. I like to talk to my clients about the amount of joy, clarity, creativity, peace, ease and power that they have access to.

This inner world is created by one thing, and one thing only – Mindset. Our inner world is our domain, and is not dependent on the outer world, although it does seem that the outside world can affect our inner state, this simply isn’t how human psychology works.

The way it really works is we filter 100% of our experience through thought, which means that we never really experience the outside world, we experience our thinking of it.

The Outer Game

The outer game is all about your performance in life and the results you get in the areas such as work, relationships, your health, and any other circumstance that you like to think about. Generally speaking, people like to earn good money, go on relaxing holidays, have some adventure and excitement in life, and share all that with people they love.

My work is about helping people have more positive inner worlds, and more positive outer worlds.

I know lots of coaches who focus on one or the other, but I don’t know too many who focus on both. When I worked in Psychology, it was very much a focus on the inner, and almost none on performance.

I like to blend what I call the science of psychology, with the art of transformative coaching to really make a positive impact on people’s inner world and outer world.

And that's what I do.
