Matt Ferro got some great results when he Handled his own PR

Even a Hollywood filmmaker needs some PR from time to time. So when Matt Ferro needed to get the word out about his new film production company on a strictly limited budget, he turned to Handle Your Own PR.

Matt is a native New Yorker who fell in love with Australia after coming here in 1998 to produce the visual effects for The Matrix. He was back in 2002 to work with George Miller on the Oscar-winning animated feature, Happy Feet.
Now settled in Sydney with a young family, Matt was keen to spread the word about a few of his new projects.

“I was about to strike out on my own again and read about Jules and Handle Your Own PR as an industry disruptor,” says Matt. “I had basic writing skills so I hired Jules to review my first media release. She spent a lot of time helping me understand what assets I have that might be PR worthy.”

“I got coverage of one of my projects in the Daily Telegraph, and a bunch of online media carried it as well,” he says. “It definitely gave me talking points and content to put on my website. The media coverage also gave me confidence in seeing that the message I’m putting out there is resonating. It was a terrific way to get back out in the game.”
