Everyone Is Different:We've Got You Covered
A wise man once said that if exercise were a pill, everyone would take it.
This is one of the most accurate statements regarding physical activity and working out.
Why Should I Work Out?
Exercise and physical activity are so well studied that there is no doubt about the benefits they provide.
Regular physical activity will strengthen your bones, tendons, and ligaments, increase your strength and flexibility, improve your cardiovascular health, and lower the risk of premature all-cause mortality.
The benefits go even beyond the physical, as it's a well-known fact that exercising releases "feel-good" hormones and helps with treating everything from anxiety to schizophrenia.
Our Physical Fitness offering is not a one-size-fits-all program. We have multiple courses and programs designed to help you no matter what physical challenges you may be facing. We have included programs for people with limited mobility, people looking for functional fitness, and even people wanting to learn how to take advantage of their gym membership.
But if you don't want to go to the gym, that's okay too. We have programs you can do right in your own home. You can mix and match to keep your workouts from getting boring, or you can start slowly and work your way up to more challenging routines.
As with all physical activity, you should check with your healthcare provider before beginning any program.
APEX Physical Fitness
8 Complete Programs
The Programs Included:
Gentle Chair Yoga
In this program you have a 24-minute seated chair yoga session, a 23-minute standing chair yoga session, and a 16-minute gentle standing yoga practice. A good yoga practice shouldn't require you to tie yourself in knots, or push you to the point of injury. This gentle course is a great way to start a yoga practice.
Chair Workout
This four-week, full body program is designed specifically for people with limited mobility. Even if limited mobility prevents you from doing activities that you once loved, there are still many ways for you to stay healthy. This program shows you how to stay flexible, maintain (or obtain) cardiovascular health, and even do strength training in spite of your limitations.
21 Day Yoga Challenge
This is an introductory Yoga course meant to introduce Yoga to new practitioners, or for those who may be not feel ready or able to take on advanced yoga practices. The guide for these lessons is Lacey Powell, a Wellness Fitness Specialist with over 10 years of experience as a yoga instructor. You can watch her execute each movement while you practice.
Core Workout
The Core Workout includes 17 individual exercise instructional videos with beginner and advanced workout plans. No equipment is required. The four-week program, with 3 workouts per week, gets harder as you progress. After finishing the beginner program, you can start the advanced one and get 8 weeks of awesome training.
Dumbbell Workout
The Dumbell Program consists of two strength circuits and one modified Tabata circuit (HIIT aerobics) per week. The strength workouts will facilitate muscle growth and some fat burning, while the Tabata will supercharge the fat burning. The program is designed to use dumbbells, but other forms of resistance can be used. A diet guide is included to ensure best results.
Functional Fitness
Functional Fitness refers to exercises that improve your ability to easily perform everyday activities, like walking, carrying, bending and squatting without injury. Unlike traditional bodybuilding, which frequently targets muscles in isolation, functional fitness prepares your body for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work, or while enjoying your favorite sport.
Beginner's Guide to the Gym
If you are a beginner looking to get started in the gym, a full-body, three-times-per-week program is one of the best options. This four-week program includes comprehensive exercise instructional videos and an easy-to-follow table to get you going on your journey. Using it, you will build a strong foundation of muscle and strength that will serve you well.
Advanced Guide to the Gym
In the Advanced Gym Program, we build on the foundation you set up, adding new exercises, increasing intensity, increasing the number of exercises per training and training sessions per week. In addition to the training aspects, this program provides some key advice regarding recovery and nutrition, which you'll need to maximize your progress and minimize injuries.
