Bringing Balance Into Your Body & Life
“Don’t dismiss the elements. Water soothes and heals. Air refreshes and revives. Earth grounds and holds. Fire is a burning reminder of our own will and creative power. Swallow their spells. There’s a certain sweet comfort in knowing that you belong to them all.”
― Victoria Erickson
Way back when, ancient healers discovered that the world was made up of four powerful elements: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth.
They believed that maintaining a balance between these elements was the key to good health in both body and mind.
Each of the four elements has its own unique qualities and traits.
So let’s do a quick lesson in the 4 basic energy elements/frequencies:
Fire: dynamic, masculine, passionate, heat.
Fire is like a warm hug that gives us the heat and energy to keep us going. It’s a fun element that loves to transform and spread its warmth, helping Wind and Water flow nicely. And, it’s the reason why Mother Earth stays cozy and our organs are healthy. But, too much or too little of it can lead to some heart and circulation issues, which might affect our digestion, blood flow and lymphatic system.
Water: nurturing, feminine, magnetic.
Water is like the life-giving juice that keeps our bodies hydrated and flowing smoothly. It’s like a cool splash in the earth, and it needs the wind to keep it moving. But, too much or too little of it can cause trouble for our organs, like blood diseases, eye problems, kidney or bladder issues, diabetes, and anything that messes with our urine or liquid discharge.
Earth: stability, support, strength
Earth is like the foundation of our bodies, making sure all the pieces are in place. When the Earth element is balanced, everything is solid and strong, but when it’s not, it can cause skin troubles, bone issues, lumps, and other “solid” problems.
Air: movement, possibility, cooling.
Wind is like the breeze that keeps our bodies moving and grooving. It’s the energy behind our upward and downward movements, our breaths, and even the wind in our bellies. But when it’s not balanced, it can cause troubles like pneumonia, coughs, mucous blockages, tuberculosis, bronchitis, fainting, dizziness, and joint pain. Luckily, wind is super important for our mobility, strength, longevity, and overall pep.
These elements are present within us all and it’s important to understand how to balance them for optimal health.
The ancient Hawaiians were like energy wizards, they had a magic touch when it came to balancing their energies!
They learned from Mother Nature and watched the elements play with each other, and brought those good vibes into their own lives through singing, dancing, and some serious breathing exercises and massage (Lomi lomi).
So how can you become an energy wizard too?
Easy! Just breathe!
In our Lomi Lomi massage training, we teach you to inhale like a boss for 3 to 4 counts and exhale with a blissful “haaaa” for 6 to 8 counts, keeping that inhale to exhale ratio at 1:2. This helps our students to build mana and build a stronger connection with the elements. If you want to, you can do the same by standing with your feet ready for action, arms out like a superhero, and feel the connection with the earth.
The ancient Hawaiians understood how to work with the elements and incorporate them into everything they did including their bodywork to help themselves and the bodies that were on their table.
Learning how to harness the elements, they lived their lives to the fullest and helped their clients receive their highest good as well.
And you know what? You can too!
Now, there’s more to working with the elements than just breathing exercises, but why not start with a simple step?
Who knows, you might become the next energy wizard of the world!
Let me know if you find it easy to do breathing exercises or not?

Our training school is based in Toowoomba, Queensland,. However, we will run training throughout South East Queensland and overseas as requested. Please contact us if you would like to know more.
Every teacher has their own unique gift and way of teaching, therefore students are required to start at level 1 in order to avoid the feeling of overwhelm that comes from inexperience as well as the basic body mechanics necessary to avoid injury to themselves or their clients.
If you have completed Heartworks lomi lomi beforehand and can show proof, you may apply for a reduction in price for level 1, however you will still be required to attend.
When Lomi is a path that you are passionate about, no training will be wasted but will all serve the greater understanding of the practice as a whole. Because you have learned from another teacher, it will assist you with a more rapid integration.
After each course is completed, students receive a certificate of completion with the Nationally Approved Provider verification information for continuing education points.
Currently, we are certified with MAA (Massage Association of Australia).
As Australia and New Zealand are deregulated in massage therapy the certificate IV is NOT the minimum certificate to start your massage career or business.
Via our 2.5 days “Heartwork Lomi Lomi Course” you can work legally and professionally.
If some training centres told you the minimum certificate is Cert. IV to start your massage career IT IS 100% WRONG and it is only because of their business and their policy.
To earn the qualifications to have a health provider number, then you will need to study remedial massage, however this course will allow you to work and earn full hourly rate while you are studying, if you choose to.
