It's tempting to sign up for every app that comes on the market, but you need to ask yourself a few questions first. Does it save time? Is it user-friendly? Will I be the only one using the app or do I need to share it with staff members? Do the expected benefits outweigh the cost?

Pressed for time? Click to listen.

Here are suggestions for small business productivity:

  • QuickBooks Online - If you’re looking for an accounting app to help with business finances, check out QBO. You can add several users, record transactions on the mobile app, and process payroll if you have employees.

  • Zenefits - The app helps streamline your employee benefits and the payroll process whether you’re reporting newly hired employees, providing access to records, or updating internal company policies. Another alternative is Gusto.

  • Zoom - Save time by conducting online meetings with clients and vendors. There’s no need to spend money on gas, sit in traffic or reserve a conference room. You can also choose a package that allows you to record the meeting and increase the number of attendees.

  • Kartra - When you need to expand your marketing efforts with landing pages or webinar registration pages, it’s better to use a drag-and-drop builder with team commenting options. You can get everyone’s opinion before the launch date.

  • Dashlane - You can manage your passwords in a single account with a provider that does not save your master password on their database for added security. You can also share log-in access to specific websites with team members (and you don’t have to reveal the password).

TIP: Not only does the monthly expense help solve a problem, but it also reduces your company’s taxable income.
