This Holiday season, give your loved ones a precious gift - your attention.

Your Greatest Gift

Author Linda Stone coined the phrase "Continuous Partial Attention" back in 1998 at the dawn of the information age.

Stone describes "CPA" as is the of paying simultaneous attention to a number of sources of incoming information, but at a superficial level.

Do you ever feel paid attention to only at a superficial level?  How does it feel?  Not so great.

It's likely you will be around friends and family this week and it's likely you will come across CPA.

Instead of joining in to this unhealthy activity, lead by example and show people how to engage.

Research has shown that CPA leads to a higher level of stress in the brain, prohibiting reflection, contemplation and thoughtful decisions.

So it's your chance to help out your friends and family (and yourself) by engaging at a sincere level.

It's pretty easy, put your phone down, ask great questions and pay attention.

It's one of the greatest gifts you can give.
