Hello, I'm Trooper!

Camper Justin with Trooper

Trooper’s family was evicted and we stepped up to help him. He was said to be fearful of bigger dogs since a large dog attacked him in the neighborhood as a younger puppy, so super slow intros are needed. However, his new foster mom says after proper intros, he warms right up and loves playing & even wrestling with their 80 lb Anatolian shepherd… and he especially loves visits & play-dates with their son’s 60 lb American Stafford terrier. He walks well on a leash and loves going for walks around the neighborhood & greets all the neighbors & other dogs big or small.

Trooper still has lots of puppy energy and is still learning his manners, however he knows sit and is currently working on stay. Though he is extremely energetic & playful, he is also super sweet and loves to cuddle with you after playing with his foster sister. He is crate trained, though occasionally whines a little if he’s not quite ready for bed when you are.

He is almost completely potty trained and doing very well, though currently requires a close eye & frequent walks while out of crate since his cues are very subtle. He does well with his foster’s cat while inside, though he will try to chase them when outdoors if they run. He rides well in the car but occasionally will get a little car sick on long trips if he has a full belly.
