Universal Laws
Everything is relative
In the book 'A happy pocket full of money', David Cameron Gikandi refers to Einstein's law of relativity in that everything is relative.
I think the first time I genuinely thought about that was when I was about 20 years old and my boyfriend left me for the woman he was meant to marry. I cried for about a week, and it was my mum who just said 'It was not meant to be'. She was of course right, and I can hear in my head Jason Donovan say "life is a journey", which it is.
From the bad stuff that happens to us to the good stuff, it's why we are here... to learn, to take away or even change without these experiences, how can we truely will develop into who we are.
For me, I went from being a quiet child after my mum attempted suicide, to an angry teenager after my parents divorced and finally releasing all my angst and just finding who I was. I genuinely just let go of trying to fit in, and be somebody I was never meant to be.
And without all those life experiences, the mistakes, the heartache, the traumas and the laughter and love, I wouldn't be the person I am today. I've grown beyond recognition of that angry teenager, and I am grateful for all that life has thrown at me.
And as a coach, I get to see the positive changes in my clients too.
Everything is relative, and remember that it may not be directly relative to you, but what you say or do may be relative to someone else. Whether that's you stopping in the street and turning round to put a couple of quid in the hand of a homeless person or telling someone to 'wind their neck in' to let them know they have been out of order for their actions (that actually happened to me and was a massive wake up call!). And even if it doesn't relevant at that time, it will be.
Be more aware or conscious of what is around you for it may just open you up to so much more.
