Winning Ways was started in 2009 by independent salon owners Chris Amos and Richard Wallace. Having previously coached for 365 Hair, we felt salons needed a simple, direct approach to business training - rather than discussing what could be done, we want to show you exactly what works with practical approaches.
Although we both have independent salons, we share most of the same systems, procedures and values that helped our businesses join the top 1% of salons in the UK. That shared history of growth from small starter salons to multiple salons, to eventually, single super multi-award winning salons, means that there is almost no experience or challenge we haven’t faced or overcome.
We are happy to share our own numbers, systems and secrets, complete transparency. A philosophy which runs through all our courses and our Golden Circle.

I'm a salon owner and educator with a strong desire to see our industry grow. I founded Chapters Hair in 1980 and 30 years on it employs 16 stylists and turns over more than 1 million each year.
When I started out, I knew very little. In fact, I left school with no qualifications.
I started a business and immediately realised that there was a gap in my business knowledge so big you could drive a tank through it.
So, I went to night school. Working through the day and cramming at night - not an approach I would recommend - it was exhausting.
But it taught me something I've carried with me all my life - the key to building a successful salon is learning.
That discovery led me to found Winning Ways with Richard Wallace, so we could help you grow your salon without you having to guess how to do it.

I’m a salon owner, educator, coach, and passionate champion for the industry.
My salon has a 7-figure turnover and is a past winner of Salon of the Year in the British Hairdressing Business and NHBF awards.
But getting to this level was not easy. In fact, we nearly lost everything in the 2008 financial crisis.
It was only my decision to study the business side of salon ownership 20 years ago that allowed me to survive the crisis and come out stronger.
It is those skills, strategies, and systems that I will share with you, to help you avoid the same mistakes and get you to your goals and dreams quicker.
What We Do
Both Chris and Richard independently run million-pound salons in the West Midlands. They founded Winning Ways in 2009 to help salon owners get the best from their business so they can create the freedom to enjoy the lifestyle they deserve.

Together, Chris and Richard host Make Money Monday and Implementation Thursday alongside guest contributors.
