You might be asking yourself why a financial company is providing instruction and advice related to mental health. Are they doctors? Therapist? Or financial consultants? Well, after 16 years of financial consulting, we actually have almost been forced to evolve into therapists, family members, condolers, and yes, some of our team members are doctors.

What is Mental Health?
Google defines mental health as a person's condition with regard to their psychology and emotional well-being. A pretty broad definition, but at the same time, it does give us some context about how we should look at our mental state at a time. The keywords here are emotional well-being. As we frame this discussion related to mental health and finances, we will actually remove finances from the equation at this point for a short period of time and bring it back in the moment. Pause right now and ask yourself how are you currently feeling about your overall life? Are you happy with it, satisfied with it? Could it be better? Now, we have given you this broad request because, frankly, it's not the right way that you should be looking at it. We as humans are very complex creatures. Therefore, asking a broad question about how you are feeling does not truly go deep into being a better person or bringing more value to your life.
When it comes to mental health, yes, we should have a broad sense of overall happiness and satisfaction, yet when we want to improve in certain areas of life, we should dissect and compartmentalize those areas so that we can focus specific attention to those specific areas to achieve specific results. For example, we should ask the question about how we feel about our relationships specifically. Then you can say my relationship with this person is; fill in the blank and then you can gauge how you can better the situation with a follow-up question being; what can I do now to better their relationship. Simultaneously, when it comes to the area of career, finances, or health, we should also take these questions as their own category and address them as such. So, just because you may not have all of the finances or be in the best financial situation does not mean you're a bad person, or you're wrong, or you make bad decisions, or your overall life is bad. The finance area is simply a section you should devote focus to in order to better it.
