History
The first person to write about making a landscape was Joseph Addison in 1712. The tradition of painting the landscape in any form was born from centuries of evolved painting styles, beginning with the tinted walls of the ancient Greeks.
Introduction
This is another great way to experiment with acrylics. Here is a cool trailer I put together for this course.

This is for the absolute beginner. I’ve noticed with first time students that they are always focused on details, when we should start training our eye to just see the all around shapes, then work from there. This is a good practice for those of you that want to complete a painting and are frustrated because you are not getting a good representation of your subject. I encourage you to go have fun and play around with this method of painting, see what you come up with.

Sometimes making an impression of something is better than getting into the details. This is a good way of making a representational idea of the subject matter.
Underpainting is an easy way to map out your values so that when you get ready to come in with color all you have to do is glaze over them.

"Where Do We Go From Here?"
Go and experiment with your acrylics, and most of all have fun. Great quote by Nancy McIntyre (Silk Screen Artist) “Celebrate the human, the marks people make on the world. Treasure the local, the small-scale, the eccentric, the ordinary: whatever is made out of caring. Respect what people have built for themselves. Find the beauty in some battered old porch or cluttered, human-scale storefront, while it still stands.” As usual I would love to see your work, join my facebook group, and share away!
