Credit Card Abundance... or Not?

Credit cards are used abundantly in our society, but ultimately you make the individual choice as to whether they bring you abundance. Here are some of my thoughts to help you to decide your abundance path when it comes to credit cards.

Do you have credit card balances that you cannot pay off in one payment at the end of the month? If the answer is yes, then most likely this means you are spending beyond your income. Let us say that you have accumulated $12,000 in credit card debt in one year. If we look closer, you have overspent your income by approximately $1,000 per month. Are credit cards causing you to overspend your income?

When you have a balance on your credit card and you are charging your everyday morning coffee to it, this cup of coffee becomes very expensive. You are paying interest on that cup of coffee and possibly for the whole year depending on how fast you are paying down your debt. I would suggest using cash or debit card attached to your checking account for weekly spending items. Do not let credit cards steal your abundance!

Do you use your credit card for every purchase to gain points? If you are paying it off every month then good for you. But are you tracking where you are spending monies? It is hard to see what you are spending if all your spending is in one bucket unless you use a software like QuickBooks or Quicken to track your expenses. Could you be overspending? Check out my "Buckets of Money" newsletter. Maybe use different credit cards for different purposes with your "freedom to spend" abundance limit.

Credit cards are convenient to use, but easy to fall prey to the "dark side" of cycles of debt. Take the time today to re-evaluate your relationship with credit cards. Ask yourself - are they adding to your abundance, or taking away from it?

Blessings of Abundance,

Streamline business spending with PEX.

Does your company or nonprofit need a better credit card to charge business expenses for all your employees or volunteers? PEX cards keep you on budget, allowing you to load a specific amount of money to prevent over-spending and limit the time you spend filling out reimbursement forms. PEX also allows you to limit spending to certain categories as well.
