After 14 long years, the Inter-school aquathlon is finally back! The Lions Aquathlon was held at PA Passion Wave at East Coast on the 6th of May, and this time it's more than just a competition!
This amazing comeback by triathlon association singapore supported by Lions Prostheses Centre SG and organized by Orange Room, to collaborate for good and raise funds for the Prosthesis Center, and graced by Guest of Honor Ms @nglingling2020 , is a perfect example of a group of motivated individuals who come together to do good and promote social and health well-being. Sportsmanship is not just a facade, it's a set of values that bring out the best in people and promote happiness.
The event was graced by Guest of Honour, Ms Ng Ling Ling, who inspired the organizers with a conversation on the importance of sports accessibility for all. She emphasized the need for relational engagement and trust-building, encouraging individuals to come together to promote community health and well-being.
The event was a great success, with everyone leaving happy, motivated, and celebrated. The Lions Singapore Aquathlon 2023 was more than just a race; it was an opportunity for people to come together and promote a good cause while having fun. The organizers did an excellent job in planning and executing the event. The event's success is a testament to the power of collaboration and the values of sportsmanship, which brings out the best in people.
As an inter-school event, there was a level of care given to the kids, and attention was paid to detail in areas of safety, making the multi-sport environment accessible and enjoyable to all, especially those newly introduced to the sport and children new to the sport.
The Aquathlon event was designed to promote the sport of Aquathlon to the general public, inspire people from all walks of life, and channel the energy and vibrancy of kids and youths towards sports. The Lions relay category featured para-athletes going the mile to complete a relay with their partner. There was also an Inter-Schools Aquathlon Challenge, making a comeback after 14 years, giving students from schools, colleges, and universities the opportunity to race a new sport under their school colors and be crowned Aquathlon champions in their age group.
For every participant that signed up, $10 was donated to the Lions Prostheses Centre to support their cause. The funds raised will help provide prosthetic leg support to many diabetes sufferers who have had their legs amputated. With more funds, more
Notable mentions include Nexus International School, walking away with the U13 and U17 male school champions, and NTU winning the Varsity awards.
Overall, the Lions Singapore Aquathlon 2023 was a great success, promoting the sport of Aquathlon and raising awareness and funds for a great cause. Lions Singapore Aquathlon 2023 is an event initiative by the Triathlon Association of Singapore and Lions Clubs of Singapore, with the objective of bringing multi-disciplinary sports closer to the community, whilst creating an opportunity to raise funds and create awareness for Lions Prostheses Centre.
This is a swim-run event aiming to promote the sport of Aquathlon to the general public as a can-do sport, to inspire people from all walks of life, projecting positive attributes such as discipline, determination, nobility, strength, while getting more kids and youths active, to channel their energy and vibrancy towards sports.
The Lions relay category will feature para-athletes going the mile to complete a relay with their partner.
There will also be an Inter-Schools Aquathlon Challenge making a come-back after 14 years (the last being in year 2009). This is an opportunity for students in schools, colleges, universities to race a new sport under their school colours and be crowned Aquathlon champions in their age group.

Prostheses leg support is needed for many diabetes sufferers who have had their legs amputated. With funds raised, more can be given to support those in need, to enable them to work and live a normal life.
