Following on from last weeks blog where I talked through my 5 tips to sell without selling, today I'm going to talk about finding your unique value within your offerings, as doubling down on your unique value is going to be key if you want to skyrocket your sales, AND sell without selling!
It doesn’t matter which stage of your business you’re currently at, because any time is as good as any to tease out your uniqueness!
So, today I'm going to talk about your unique value proposition, or your UVP.

If you want to run a successful business generating consistent sales then you need to be clear about the value you can offer to your potential paying customers. And you do that by getting a clearer definition on your very own unique value proposition (or UVP), and we’re going to do that now!
A well thought out unique value proposition should be able to very quickly convey to your potential customers 3 important things:
Number 1: It needs to get across how your product or service can solve your customers problems or needs. So, think about what it is that you DO that’s different to everyone else? And I have a great video packed with tips on solving your customers problems that will help you dig into this.
Number 2: It needs to convey WHAT your paying customers should expect if they purchase your offering. And, what you need to think about here is, what do you DO for them that goes above and beyond everyone else?
I have a great video full of information about going the extra mile for your customers, so I won’t go into too much detail here.
Number 3: What are the advantages to tempt potential customers to purchase your offerings over your competitors?
So, think about how you differentiate your offering from everyone else’s. And to help you to do this, you might also want to check out my other video, How to grow your business in a crowded market.
Now it’s really important in your business that you differentiate your offering from your competition with at least one thing that’s completely unique to everyone else. And that one thing needs to add real value.
If you’re not sure exactly what your own unique value proposition could be, then there are actually many things you can add. You just need to get creative and take a little bit of thinking time. I’m going to give you a few quick ideas to get you started!
For example, let’s say you’re an online jewellery maker and you decide to speed up the delivery of your service. To do this you might decide that you need to take on extra staff to support the processing of customer orders, or, you might opt instead to pay for an expedited delivery service.
Here are some examples of ‘extra’ things that you could then blend into your refreshed offering and further build your own unique value proposition:
So, that’s just a few ideas from me to get you on your way to creating your own unique value proposition and tease out your uniqueness! Can you see from my examples how I’m starting to combine ideas to build something different?
And another great way to tease out how you can add value and uniqueness is by capitalising on your personal strengths as an entrepreneur. Now, I won’t go into those again here, but you might want to check out my other blog how to grow your business with your strengths.
So, remember, your Unique Value Proposition is the sole reason anyone should want to buy from you and no-body else. And that means, whatever extra uniqueness you can add will only improve the value of your offerings and ultimately help you to grow your business.
