People ask me, what is DCT? The answer is, it's a type of active resistance stretching, which means that instead of passively lengthening a muscle and trying to relax into a painful stretch, instead, we're using your muscle's own contractions to release tension from the inside out.

 

So the difference between DCT and traditional approaches to stretching really has to do with communication and what I like to call real-time diagnostics. What I mean by that is, when you are working with somebody and you're performing a technique with them appropriately communicating, that means you as a practitioner are learning as they perform the technique.

 

The technique will be giving you the information that you need to guide the session. So it's not a protocol, DCT is the exact opposite of a protocol. We have a technique that we employ and that technique gives us real-time feedback that then allows us to go through a session and dismantle, let's say a compensation pattern or a chronic pain pattern that's existed for years, letting us do it almost immediately.

 

When you finish your first DCT session, you will feel profoundly different in your body and over the course of my training, not only did I go through Western physical therapy, but I also got a health practitioner license which means I tried 40 or 50 different types of massage over a thousand hours of training, and cherry-picked the best of the best that I found in that education process and I blended it into DCT.

 

That's why the technique is so dynamic we merge the soft tissue techniques with the hands on therapy techniques with the self-care techniques, and this is all supported by an entire product line that helps you do those techniques even better.
