The exact itinerary will be kept flexible to account for the weather and current conditions in the park. We will optimize our time for the best possible photography. The itinerary below is just an example of what you can expect.

DAY 1

Meet at 6PM in Las Vegas for our meet and greet and group dinner.

DAY 2

Optional sunrise shoot on Vegas Strip. After breakfast we do the 2.5 hr drive to Furnace Creek and go to the Mesquite Dunes and explore them through sunset. This will require 1-2 miles of walking. 

Overnight at The Oasis at Death Valley

DAY 3

With nice clouds in the sky, we wake up early to photograph the salt polygons at Badwater. We venture further afield to colorful badlands and slot canyons. In the afternoon we photograph old cars, waterfalls, joshua trees, ghost towns, and finish at sunset with Badwater Basin stretched out below us. We will decide at the time to perhaps stay a couple hours after sunset to do some night photography!

DAY 4

We photograph sunrise at nearby Zabriskie Point and then head out towards Eureka Dunes (2.5 hr drive).  We have a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon exploring and photographing the largest sand dunes in Death Valley.  We’ll be walking 1-2 miles.  After dark, we’ll drive the 2.5 hrs back to Furnace Creek. 

DAY 5

It's another early morning departure for a sunrise shoot. With dramatic clouds, we shoot from a high ridgeline with 360-degree views all around us!  We get many different kinds of shots from wide angle up to telephoto.  We return for lunch and an afternoon classroom session. We decide on our sunset location based on the weather.

DAY 6

We are up well before dawn to hike back into the Mesquite Dunes for sunrise, capturing the ripples, curves, and textures of the dunes. Again, this will be a 1-2 mile walk over loose terrain. We return to Furnace Creek for a midday break. This evening we go out to photograph the famous mud cracks of Death Valley.

DAY 7

Our morning photo session takes place amidst otherworldly badlands, full of striking colors and abstract shapes.  The early morning light creates a wonderful glow and richness. We return for breakfast and then spend the rest of the day exploring a ghost town and driving through a huge canyon with towering walls.  We might even find a group of bighorn sheep to photograph!

DAY 8

We decide as a group where we want to spend our last sunrise opportunity in Death Valley. We then return to Furnace Creek and check out. Lunch is in Pahrump and then we return to Las Vegas by mid-afternoon.
