Case Study: Excel VBA Is Fun

ExcelVBAIsFun is a small excel mastery consulting company run by solopreneur Dan Strong. They specialize in teaching both beginners and experts how to master Excel automation and how to land programing jobs with their new-found skill-set.

They only had one issue. Although they had an online store promoting their e-learning products, almost ALL of their revenue came from Udemy.

The problem was they had to slash the prices of their consulting and courses, and give up almost half the earned revenue to Udemy.

Success We Delivered

We set up a few one on one consulting sessions helping Dan build out his sales system from scratch. We utilized multiple strategies to establish a new revenue stream for him along side Udemy. Now, even with a low advertising budget, he currently generates an extra $500 - $700 per week and will soon no longer use Udemy at all.

Main Focus

Our main focus with Dan was fixing his mindset on his low budget course. We needed to raise his prices if we were going to have any luck generating a decent amount of revenue.  Also, we had to develop his sales process so he had the ability to convert cold traffic.

First, we walked him through building 2 simple funnels, a VSL funnel and a product funnel.
Then we taught him how to create engaging ads for his Facebook campaigns.

Next, we worked on a few email sequences with him to ensure we maximized every lead we captured. The main sequences we worked on were a 7 day trip, abandoned cart, and customer winback. We also went over weekly email ideas so he could consistently keep his new growing list engaged.

Dan also had a YouTube following of 100k subscribers, so we knew we could utilize this for free traffic to his VSL.

Lastly, we had him create a private Facebook group for Excel professionals so he could further nurture his audience. Establishing a weekly live Q&A session in the group helped capture joiners that didn't input their email and show massive authority to his audience.
