Growing up, everyone repeated "BASKETBALL IS A BUSINESS" but never took the time to expand upon this theory. Walking away from each speech, my teammates and I just assumed it meant "basketball is serious. They don't take it as a joke at the next level." 

 

Which is true. But, simply coming out beating your chest, and slapping the floor with your game face on is NOT GOING TO HELP YOU WIN BASKETBALL GAMES ORRRR GET YOU RECRUITED. 

 

What I've learned through my personal collegiate journey, 15 plus years of coaching/training experience, my study of the game itself, and my Masters in Sport Management is what THEY really meant all along.
