Camp Day 9

Thursday August 2, 2018

Kayak Adventure

Just like every other day, we started with jogs and a quick practice of loose leash walking. We then practiced pedestal and cone exercises. The pedestal is used to teach the dogs to jump up when we say the words, "Step up". The cone is used to teach the dogs to go around an object if their leash gets tangled around a pole, for example.

After our quick training session, we loaded onto the buses to go kayaking. Once we arrived, we learned that the water was a dark brown color. After discussion with the Campers, we decided to head somewhere else. We were headed toward the beach, when we remembered a dog park we had passed by, so we decided to go there.

All the dogs are allowed off leash to swim and run around. The Camper swam in the water with their dogs and got thrown into the water too. They agreed to swim across the pond only if they could get Starbucks on the way home. Of course they did it, and we had to stop for Starbucks. We didn’t arrive back to Doglando until close to 4pm, so the Campers got to skip chores tonight! All the Campers will return tonight at 8PM for our sleep over. We’re holding a talent show, doing craft projects, and ice cream run will likely happen!
