Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any tools for the Gut Fascia Series?
Yes! You'll need a Coregeous® ball from Yoga Tune Up®. I have them for sale on my website if you're in Canada and you can order them for elsewhere in the world from Tune Up Fitness.
Are there any pre-requisties?
While we will cover some basic abdominal organ anatomy, it would be wise to familiarize yourself with the basics of both position and function of the abdominal organs. If you haven't spent a lot of time rolling your gut, introduce the Coregeous ball to your belly softly and gently in a general manner before diving in deep.
I have abdominal pathologies. Is it safe to roll on my gut?
Always consult a doctor before introducing new modalities to your body. You can ask your doctor is self directed abdominal or visceral massage is safe for your body.
I've had surgery. is it safe to use these techniques?
It depends on how long it's been since your surgery. Always consult your doctor to confirm safety of abdominal or visceral massage post-op.
Here are some basic guidelines:
Less than six months, consult your surgeon.
Six months to one year, be gentle.
Longer than one year, go ahead.
