About Company

Elisa Plan was established in 2016 initially to solely provide credit counseling services to individuals. By 2017 there became a need for family and community education around credit, finances and entrepreneurship. By 2018, Elisa Plan expanded services to include small business services and corporate/ community based trainings.

At Elisa Plan we strive to provide quality service to individuals and communities in the areas of financial literacy, household organization, mindfulness and building wealth through entrepreneurship.

Most of our clients are within the United States, however we have worked with individuals in other countries who desire to move back to the US and want to make sure they have an appropriate plan in place.

Our goal is to positively impact 50,000 households across the United States.

About Founder

Hello!

I am Ruth Elisa

Ruth Elisa is a connector, innovator, serial entrepreneur and coach who is dedicated to providing equitable financial and wellness education across the world.

Ruth was always seen as a “helper” but in 2016 found her calling when helping a friend with his finances. She asked him a series of questions, grabbed a sheet of paper from the pile of mail he had to go into the fire pit, and wrote down several tasks for him to complete within a three month period.

She checked in with him to make sure he stayed on track and within a few months he’d completed all his tasks, stopped wage garnishment, rolled over his retirement and increased his credit score from a 530 to an 820! From there his lifestyle became much more structured which in turn created flexibility for the things he desired.

From her friend’s testimony via social media, Ruth received hundreds of inquiries that week, with others asking for assistance with their credit and finances. Within four months, Ruth decided to step out on faith and work on Elisa Plan full time.

Ruth has a desire to make finances heavily relatable to the audiences she’s speaking to. She understands her clients’ stories matter. Language matters. Authenticity matters, even when creating a financial plan. Through her transparency around growing up in foster care, becoming a single parent and being a full time entrepreneur, Ruth provides a ‘no-judgment zone’ which helps make her clients comfortable. By helping people discover their truth, and becoming aware of their own habits and patterns, she’s been able to help over 2,000 clients become financially fit.

With Ruth’s signature Elisa Plan curriculum, she now teaches youth and adults how to gain financial freedom. She also created and implemented several programs around entrepreneurship, leveraging personal and business credit, and debt management.

Ruth is a certified credit counselor through the National Association of Certified Credit Counselors. She holds a master’s degree in Education and is currently ABD in the Education, Leadership and Policy doctoral program at the University at Buffalo. Ruth is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and attends Glory House International Church. She currently resides in Western New York with her two children.

Work with Elisa Plan

    The Start

    • Apr 2016: Ruth Elisa stepped out on faith with a solid strategy in hand and left her full-time job just four months after helping clients and started what is now Elisa Plan. The original name of the company was Financially Fit Boss.

    Expanding Services

    • Jan 2018: Company name changes to Elisa Plan. Ruth Elisa wanted to create a name that would resonate with strategic planning for personal finance and small business development. The name is trademarked. New services were created out of demand from her clients who wanted more than one-time sessions with her. Ruth Elisa created personal finance and business boot camps for clients.

    Greater Reach

    • Jan 2020: Ruth Elisa realized her long-time clients, who were now out of debt, wanted to start building wealth. Many of them had business concepts but weren’t familiar with where to start. After analyzing past data of clients, Ruth Elisa decided to add services to Elisa Plan to focus on legacy building through business development for entrepreneurs, specifically people in underserved communities. At this time, about 30% of Elisa Plan's clients were outside of New York State. Ruth wanted to draw in more clients around the country and decided to relaunch EP as a virtual business.
    • Mar 2020: The pandemic catapulted Ruth's vision for virtual services. New services such as the Business EntreprenHERship Mastermind were launched to increase entrepreneurship and creative ways for women to make money during the pandemic. The course sold out twice that year.
    • Feb 2021: Elisa Plan launches Pinkprint Truth, a low-cost membership for women to learn about personal finances, mental health and business. The membership attracted a national audience. Free membership were given to young women aging out of foster care. This was a personal goal for Ruth, as she went through the foster care system as a youth.
    • Sept 2022: Elisa Plan transitions to Community Based Trainings to create a larger impact among underserved communities.
