What was the problem you experienced before you started working with me?
“Over the years, the weight has crept up after 2 kids, food intolerance etc. I have always struggled to stick to a plan and be organised and prepared. I know what I should eat but with 2 kids and the hours I work, I always go for convenience.”
Have you previously tried anything else to achieve your goals? If so, what?
“I have tried slimming world online, which did work to lose weight but it all went back on afterwards and I found the preparation really time-consuming when working the hours I do.”
What were the results of working with me?
“I lost 5lb in the first 3 weeks. I found I felt so much better and well energised with the food plan. Weeks 4,5,6 have been frustrated by being ill, medication and slipping with my snacks, but I am happy that I am still generally eating much better on the whole.”
What was the best thing about it?
“For me, the accountability of the group and support. Having you being supportive but not critical is so valuable. I had a PT years ago running up to my wedding and I hated the judgement when I slipped with food. Your understanding and support of my journey because of my health and the hours I work mean my journey is slower than others are what want to make me continue. For me, it took years to get to this state, so if there’s going to be a long-term change, it's going to take time to permanently change my habits and find what works. I feel I am getting there with the food now. My next target is trying to find energy and time for the exercise.”
What would you say to anyone considering working with me and would you recommend it? If so, why?
“Cheryl is the support you need if you want to make that change but don't know how and know you will have bumps in the road. She is supportive and gives recommendations and suggestions that will work in the real world, for real people that have a busy life.”
Is there anything you’d like to add?
“ Thank you for being so understanding about my journey. I am having a bit of a wobble this week because I have stalled with progress and slipped a few times with food. And with so much going on, wondering how I can get this exercise done when I am so exhausted and busy. But knowing you're there to support and not judge is keeping me going. I am worried about lunches going back to work in a few weeks......I have a 30 min lunch which with changing rooms and packing up Covid equipment normally is just enough time to scoff a sandwich....”

I have been attending Cheryl’s online Pilates class since the start of lockdown in April 2020. She understands each person’s ability and delivers the sessions in a professional manner. Before starting with Cheryl, I had never attended a gym and, at 12 stone 7.5 pounds and 5 ft 6 was overweight, struggling with energy levels and suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. After 12 weeks on the programme, I lost 17.5 pounds, 11 inches across my body and dropped a dress size. My energy levels are much higher and I have come off the medication for my IBS. I have totally changed the food I eat following Cheryl’s advice. I have now cut out sugar, bread and processed food from my diet and I exercise at least 4 times a week.
Throughout the 12 weeks, Cheryl gave her experience of nutrition and exercise, including useful recipes, and encouraged me to complete a weekly food diary. She recommended the use of mid-morning and afternoon healthy snacks, which I have now incorporated into my healthy eating programme. I made a fantastic beef curry one evening which she recommended and my son and partner have never stopped talking about how lovely it was.
As a university Lecturer I always managed to find an excuse not to exercise. I had marking or preparation to do but Cheryl made me realise that I had to put my wellness first and that would help me in my professional work and in my role as a mother and partner. Cheryl’s support and guidance has been superb. She was always at the end of the telephone for support and I loved the exercise as it really helped, as she did resistance training which helped with weight loss. I would recommend Cheryl to anyone, because if I can do it, then anybody can. I felt supported, motivated and to sum up my experience on Cheryl’s programme, I would say it has been truly ‘Thinspirational!’

Pilates has been a great help in improving my muscle strength and joint mobility – especially my knees. Cheryl’s Pilates classes are always well planned and fun! She has a wealth of knowledge about the best exercises for certain parts of the body and explains everything in an easy to understand way. My Pilates class sets me up for the week. I would highly recommend it!

I have had the worst relationship with food my entire life. I saw a post advertising Cheryl’s work, so I decided I had nothing to lose was I wrong! 2 weeks in and I’ve lost 3.5 kilos. I’m not hungry, the plan is super easy to follow and the recipes are easy and delicious. Finally, I can get results without starving myself or eating cabbage soup.
