THE MODERN HEALTH LETTER
HOW TO BE HEALTHIER THAN 99% OF PEOPLE
the fastest way to ruin your health:
And never question why you are getting sick all the time.
This is the health standard most people live their lives at.
You give your body the bare minimum to function and survive and get upset against it when it can’t perform optimally.
You convince yourself that you are just “getting old”.
That you don’t have time to move your body.
That you deserve a couple of drinks every weekend after working so hard the whole week.
Deep causes, superficial solutions
Imagine your body is a car.
When you were born, you received a brand-new car that was able to function at peak performance.
Since then, you have used your car every day of your life.
You drive around but never wash and clean it.
You rarely take it to the garage for a check-up and to get the used pieces replaced with new ones.
Although you know it’s about time but it’s going to cost a lot of effort and money you push back to later.
The brakes are wearing off so you just drive a bit slower.
One of the doors is not closing properly anymore so you just avoid using it.
And when your car starts to make some weird noises you say to yourself that it will pass.
Whenever your car signals a problem, you find a quick way to resolve it with a cover solution that doesn’t actually fix the root cause in the first place.
The quick fixes allow you to keep using your car every day.
But for how long?
And at what level of performance?
You don’t care.
So you just keep driving it.
You say to yourself that the day your car breaks down, you will be able to take the train, the bus or buy a new car to get where you need to go.
This is where our car analogy stops because you only have one body.
If you truly sit with this and can wake up to the realisation that you only have one shot at this you might ask yourself how comes you haven’t made your health your main priority in life.
The value of health
The main question we want to ask ourselves here is:
Do I value my health?
If your answer is no, then you are more than welcome to close this letter.
If your answer is yes, then you want to ask yourself:
If your body could speak, what would it say to you about the way you have been treating it?
Right now, our society does not value health.
The opposite of health has become our standard to the point where it is so hard to resist all the temptations that are constantly presented to us.
In a world that has become complacent with being sick and in pain all the time and living completely disconnected from one’s body, striving for optimal health is how you secure the best possible future and become an exceptional human being.
Here is why:
There is a reason why you resonate with the message I put out.
Somewhere inside of you, you know that you deserve better.
But you won’t be able to drive yourself to a better place in life, with a car (your body) that is constantly breaking down.
Your body, its needs and your health have to become your first and main priority, because you understand that it is the very engine that will take you through everything you want to experience in life.
You want to learn how to understand, predict and control your body, so it can become your most loyal and supportive life companion.
Striving for optimal health will give you:

Back to nature
In this letter, we explored the relationship between responsibility and power.
Not only are you going to gain more personal power by taking responsibility for your body and your health, but you are also guiding yourself back to your natural state of being.
From a natural and survival point of view, we are not meant to be as sick, unfit and physically incapable as we are.
Although we live in a modern society, our brains, bodies and needs have remained the same since the beginning of our existence.
But our physical and mental abilities have adapted to society’s need for comfort and laziness to the point where we don’t even know what our natural state looks and feels like.
A natural body in an unnatural environment can only be exposed to so much stress until it starts to break down or attack itself.
Obesity, autoimmune diseases, different allergies and intolerances, and constant inflammation can, a lot of the time, be linked back to our unhealthy and unnatural environment.
This disconnection from our bodies also highlights a very painful reality:
The lack of love we have for ourselves.
I want you to think of someone you truly love and value. Let that feeling of love arise in your heart.
Because you feel love towards that person, you want the absolute best happening to and for them.
You want them to be healthy.
You want them to be happy.
You want them to feel loved and appreciated.
It’s that same love, care and appreciation that we want to develop and pour into our body.
Every decision you make and food you put in your mouth should become a way to show your love and appreciation towards your body.
It’s one of the first steps to start cultivating self-love and deep respect for how consistent and dedicated your body has been towards you.
Now is the time to be truly honest with yourself and to take a close look at all the ways you are possibly harming your body and neglecting your health.
If your body could speak, what would it say to you about the way you have been treating it?

Health = Quality of life
The deeper your connection to your body, the better your health.
As you strive for optimal health, the quality of your life will significantly improve.
This is where you start:
As much as you can.
The very nature of our feminine body is cyclical.
Our body, mood and hormone levels change as we go through four different seasons over a month (approximately).
Unfortunately, our cyclical nature has not been recognized yet in our society, and most women who are exposed to a linear environment are forced to repress their cycle.
If you work for someone else, then it can be very hard to attune, choose and adapt to the needs your body has according to the season you are in.
So you want to prioritize your body’s needs as much as possible outside of work.
An example to illustrate this could be rescheduling an evening out because you know that you are welcoming your bleed that day and can hear your body’s need for rest and some alone time.
If you feel lost, one of the best ways to gain clarity is to open yourself up to learning and allow yourself to try new things out.
Watch and listen to some health-related videos or podcasts. (I will be posting a recommendation list on the MODERN HEALTH platform very soon)
Start reading some books that spark your curiosity and interest.
Buy a course or invest in a coach you trust if you know that you are someone who likes to be guided and supported.
Whenever you are making a decision that involves your health and your body, ask yourself:
Is that something someone who loves themselves and their body would do?
If your answer is yes, go for it.
If your answer is no, make the conscious decision to choose your body instead.
You might not see it yet, but your health is the ultimate level of wealth.
Master your health, and you’ll have all the leverage you need to make anything else happen too.
I will see you in next week’s letter,
Until then, take care.
