ENOUGH
WHAT IS ENOUGH AT HOME?
October 20, 2022
This book is a treasure! I love it so much and come back to it in different phases of motherhood. I even keep my book notes in my phone so when I need them they’re close at hand.
The key takeaway is this: It’s all about the moments shared, not the minutes spent.
And my very favorite: You only get 960 Saturdays with your children.
That could be the end of my blog right there. Just ponder those.
But, here are the rest of my notes:
Kids need security, consistency, stability, emotional support, love, education, positive role models, and structure.
Don’t forget to have fun. Audit new experiences. Sometimes just mosey.
Build traditions, that’s what you’ll remember.
Listen to what kids have to say.
Treasure bedtime.
Be involved in their school, homework and/or PTA.
Let them work at your office.
Teach them about money and how to have a business.
Let them help with household tasks and lunch prep.
“Come into my office” for discussions.
Make dinnertime special.
Right after school is a critical time.
Have food/meal traditions and a favorite place like a corner diner.
Take tech free vacations.
Sometimes walk instead of driving.
Plan a movie night.
Have a shared hobby.
Do charity work together.
MAKE A PLAN FOR SATURDAY.
