OMG!!…. I was blown away by the transformational changes that our group of Weight Loss Goal Clubbers achieved! Literally, this group had LIFE-CHANGING experiences!!
So here’s what happened.
Way back in July, a group of 10 women got together and met each other for the first time and shared their story of struggle with weight and set goals to make positive changes in their lives revolved around losing weight.
Each month for the next 5 months, they came together to learn about a different way to lose weight, because nothing had worked for them in the past, and to share their experiences and set goals to make positive changes in their lives.
We worked with the 5 pillars of MindBody Nutrition, which is designed to look at weight and its loss in a very holistic way – without diets or weighing or measuring anything!
And this is how it all unfolded...
Of the 10 women who joined the program, 5 women showed up for each and every workshop and those 5 women achieved more in 5 months than they had in their whole lives!
Every woman was on a different journey. Some had significant health issues that were known to them, others simply felt like they were a trainwreck on a daily basis, and some had been battling with weight their whole life, constantly fighting with their body, because it didn’t conform to the norm in their eyes.
So let's look at the results…
Meet Belinda,
Belinda’s reason for coming along was that she was not putting herself first, and her goal was to put herself first and feel like a human!!
As a mum & business owner, Belinda found that life was hectic and there was little time for her. In fact she described her life as a trainwreck!!
Over 5 months, Belinda took over her life, rather than letting life take over her, and in addition to committing to giving herself the time to come to Goals Club and learn new ways to support her mind and body health, she sought specific professional help from our network of amazing specialists.
After just one week of making some suggested changes, a significant gut health issue that had been uncovered was well on the way to resolution and she was feeling better!
She let go of the guilt of taking time out for her own mind and body’s restorative needs.
She implemented new ways of living her life – like slowing down & reducing her stress levels.
Belinda gave herself the gift of time and focussed on her own self-care.
And the most important thing that happened was she stopped caring about the weight and the number on the scales, and she started living her life in a kinder, more nurturing, and nourishing way.
Each of the 5 women found acceptance and let go of a culture of dieting & weighing themselves - which in itself is debilitating and damaging and is also known as disordered eating. Each of these women spent time focusing on their health & wellbeing and made small but significant changes consistently to achieve fabulous results!
The take-home messages are that you don’t need to diet to be happy. Being unhappy is actually pointing to the solution to what really needs to be addressed, that stress is the biggest blocker to weight loss and in order to make changes, you have to be aware of how you're doing the problem of not losing weight, and then be willing to take the action that’s needed to create healthy habits and lifestyle changes.
